Volleyball Recap: Fairport Takes a Loss

If Fairport was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Pittsford on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Victor Blue Devils by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Red Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Blue Devils since Tuesday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Fairport sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 25-15, 26-28, 15-13.

Emma Graney was nothing short of spectacular for Victor: she had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces Graney has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grace Repich, who had four digs and three aces.

Fairport now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Victor, they pushed their record up to 12-4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fairport is set to take on their familiar foe Webster Thomas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Victor will square off against rival Rush-Henrietta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
