Recap: Valencia Jaguars vs. Capital Jaguars
The Valencia Jaguars lost against the Capital Jaguars back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Valencia fell to Capital 53-48. It was the first time this season that Valencia let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Valencia still got an impressive performance from Damian Estrada, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Estrada has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jared Porter, who scored ten points.
Valencia's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Capital, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valencia will take on Socorro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Capital on the road again on Thursday and play against Grants at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Grants is ranked 33rd, while Capital is ranked 32nd).
