Baseball Game Preview: Manzanola Bobcats vs. McClave Cardinals

Manzanola is 0-4 against McClave since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. Manzanola will head out on the road to challenge McClave at 4:00 p.m.

Manzanola is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 18-0 to Eads.

Meanwhile, McClave put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Wiley as McClave made off with a 19-4 victory.

Ryan Steinbrunn made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Steinbrunn was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Drew Howe and Elijah Solis did most of the damage at the plate: Howe scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Solis went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Solis has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryan Bronniman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

McClave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

McClave's record is now 3-0. As for Manzanola, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Manzanola might still be hurting after the 28-0 defeat they got from McClave when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Manzanola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
