Basketball Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 50-43 to the Washington Hatchets. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Hatchets are ranked 47th).

Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper will challenge Evansville North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington, they will square off against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Washington surely won't give up without a fight.
