Soccer Game Preview: Catholic vs. Hot Springs

The Catholic Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Hot Springs Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Little Rock Christian Academy, who was ranked seventh at the time (Catholic was ranked third). The Rockets never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. Two seems to be a good number for Catholic as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Hot Springs made sure to put some goals up on the board against Arkansas on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Razorbacks. That looming 4-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hot Springs yet this season.

Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Hot Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Hot Springs in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
