Softball Recap: Richmond High School for the Arts Bulldogs vs. Clover Hill Cavaliers
Richmond High School for the Arts extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 18-2 to the Clover Hill Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
As for Clover Hill, their record is now 9-4. Considering they have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Clover Hill's part, Paige Marshall was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Marshall a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Clover Hill got a massive performance out of Analia Reyes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Reyes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandra Wittman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Coming up, Richmond High School for the Arts is taking a road trip to face off against Monacan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clover Hill, they will welcome Prince George at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Royals will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight.
