Basketball Game Preview: Davis Pirates vs. Richland Bombers

The Davis Pirates and the Richland Bombers will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Davis is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Saturday, Davis didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against West Valley, but they still walked away with a 67-62 victory. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly five points.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Richland's strategy against Southridge on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Richland blew Southridge out of the water with a 90-45 final score. That looming 90-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bombers yet this season.

Davis' win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Richland, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Davis skirted past Richland 63-60 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
