Baseball Game Preview: Glenbrook North Spartans vs. Glenbrook South Titans

For the second straight game, Glenbrook North will face off against Glenbrook South. The Spartans will face off against the Titans at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Glenbrook North has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Glenbrook North's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They skirted past Glenbrook South 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.

For Glenbrook South's part, Blake Hoffer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, Hoffer gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had over his last three games.

This is the second loss in a row for Glenbrook South and nudges their season record down to 12-18. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Glenbrook North, their win bumped their record up to 17-13.
