The Lowellville Rockets will take on the Garfield G-Men at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lowellville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Lowellville didn't have quite enough to beat Crestview and fell 2-1.

Lowellville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Geno Perry, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Garfield entered their tilt with Ravenna on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Ravens get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.

Lowellville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Garfield, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Lowellville suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Garfield when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
