Recap: Morrill Lions vs. Edgemont Moguls
The Morrill Lions waltzed into their game Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Edgemont 53-37. For Morrill, this counts as revenge for the 43-30 loss Edgemont walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Kinzley Hess continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Brown, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Edgemont's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hadley Hollenbeck , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Tavian Urban who scored nine points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Urban is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Morrill's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Edgemont, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrill won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mitchell at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Mitchell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Edgemont, they will head out on the road to face off against Bison at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bison is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
