Basketball Recap: Lamar County Takes a Loss

Lamar County managed to keep up with Jackson until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Lamar County Trojans might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Jackson Red Devils an easy 75-51 win. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Devils earlier this season, when they won 70-69.

Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trent Hill led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jd Pennamon, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 20 points and five boards.

Lamar County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Jackson, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar County will head out to take on Mary Persons at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jackson, they will venture away from home to square off against Academy for Classical Education at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
