Softball Recap: Beaverhead County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Stevensville on Tuesday, Beaverhead County came back down to earth. The Beavers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frenchtown Broncs on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Beavers in their meetings with the Broncs: they've now lost five in a row.

Mya Creighton put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Creighton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Creighton wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tymber Barnes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Beaverhead County's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Frenchtown, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Beaverhead County will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Butte Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Frenchtown, they will challenge Stevensville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
