Mt. Vernon/Plankinton won the last time they faced Redfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Titans walked away with a 3-1 win over the Pheasants.

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-15.

Redfield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Hardie, who had 14 digs and two aces. Hardie is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Redfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will face off against Chamberlain at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Redfield, they will host Britton-Hecla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Braves have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
