Softball Recap: Italy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lake Worth last Saturday, Italy came back down to earth. The Italy Gladiators came up short against the China Spring Cougars on Monday, falling 18-10.

Addy Slovak led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. Landry Janek was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Italy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for China Spring, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Italy will take on West Oso at 2:35 p.m. on Thursday. As for China Spring, they are taking a road trip to challenge West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
