Softball Recap: Roscommon Comes Up Short

Roscommon had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-2 to make it eight. They came up short against Pine River Area, falling 15-0. Roscommon was not able to make up for their defeat to Pine River Area from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Pine River Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2. Considering they have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Pine River Area's part, Lilly Felsk and Raegan Wanstead did most of the damage at the plate: Felsk went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Wanstead got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Felsk has posted over her last 12 contests. Another player making a difference was Addison Verdi, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Roscommon will challenge rival Beal City at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pine River Area is set to square off against their familiar foe Houghton Lake at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
