Recap: Leicester Wolverines vs. Oxford Pirates
After flying high against the Southbridge Pioneers last Saturday, the Leicester Wolverines came back down to earth. Leicester took a hard 30-15 fall against Oxford on Friday. Leicester has not had much luck with Oxford recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kellen Clarkson looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 129 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Andruw Martinez also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Leicester's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Oxford, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leicester will square off against Nipmuc Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Nipmuc Regional is ranked 204th, while Leicester is ranked 219th). As for Oxford, they will head out on the road to face off against Uxbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Uxbridge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
