Volleyball Recap: Fossil Ridge Falls Short Against Ranked Sunrise Mountain

Fossil Ridge is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Sunrise Mountain. The SaberCats fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The loss was the SaberCats' first of the season.

Fossil Ridge's loss came despite strong showings from Sarah Reinhart and Trinity Burchett. Reinhart had 35 assists and ten digs, while Burchett had nine digs and two assists. Reinhart is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 21 every time she's taken the court this season.

Leading Sunrise Mountain to victory were Kami Milner and Aubree Manning. Milner had 16 digs and two assists, while Manning had seven digs. That's the most digs Milner has posted over her last nine matches.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fossil Ridge fell to 12-1. As for Sunrise Mountain, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Fossil Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against JSerra Catholic on the 27th. As for Sunrise Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Marymount on the 27th.
