Volleyball Recap: Stevens Falls Short Against Ranked Watertown

Stevens faced Watertown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders fell just short of the Arrows by a score of 2-1. The Raiders have struggled against the Arrows recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Watertown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andi Olson, who had 12 digs and two aces. Olson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Remmers, who had eight digs.

Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Watertown, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stevens is set to face off against their familiar foe Brookings at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Watertown will challenge rival Spearfish at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.
