Softball Recap: Lick-Wilmerding Comes Up Short

Lick-Wilmerding extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-10. They lost 14-4 to the Redwood Christian Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Redwood Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Redwood Christian's part, Kate Goodson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Goodson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Lulu Pineda was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Lick-Wilmerding does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Redwood Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against California School for the Deaf at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California School for the Deaf has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.58 runs per game on average), something Redwood Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
