Basketball Recap: Allendale Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Allendale won the last time they faced Lowell and things went their way on Thursday too. The Allendale Falcons enjoyed a cozy 61-45 victory over the Lowell Red Arrows. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Red Arrows are ranked 489th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Allendale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. Lowell dropped their record down to 4-18 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. As for Lowell, they will square off against East Grand Rapids at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
