While Syracuse didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-24-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Wichita County Indians by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Syracuse didn't let Wichita County take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 26-24.

Hailey Hampton paced Syracuse's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hampton got some help from Kimber Thomeczek and her nine assists. Dayami Leyva controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Wichita County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

After both having extra time off, Syracuse and Sublette will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another on Tuesday. As for Wichita County, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Dighton on the 18th.
