Volleyball Recap: South Ridge Comes Up Short

South Ridge lost against West Phoenix back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mavericks fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Mavericks just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row dating back to last season.

South Ridge took West Phoenix into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 24-26, 23-21.

South Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Phoenix, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

South Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Phoenix, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Maricopa Institute of Technology on the 9th.
