Softball Recap: Skowhegan Comes Up Short

Skowhegan and Lewiston squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Skowhegan had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the River Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Skowhegan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harper Turner, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Skowhegan dropped their record down to 12-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.25 runs. As for Lewiston, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

As of now, neither Skowhegan nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
