Volleyball Recap: Brodhead Falls Short of Lake Country Lutheran in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brodhead can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Cardinals' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Brodhead was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lake Country Lutheran work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 26-24, 22-25, 15-11.

Alecia Dahl paced Brodhead's offense, picking up 16 kills. Dahl got some help from Gretchen Kammerer and her 31 assists. Leah Rear controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Brodhead's defeat dropped their record down to 28-10. As for Lake Country Lutheran, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-15.

Brodhead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they will square off against Luther Prep on Thursday.
