Soccer Game Preview: Palo Alto vs. Los Gatos

Palo Alto and Los Gatos are an even 4-4-2 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Palo Alto Vikings will challenge the Los Gatos Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Palo Alto is headed into Wednesday's following a draw, the team's first since January 10. They and Homestead finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Friday.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos didn't have quite enough to beat Los Altos on Friday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Los Gatos' goal came courtesy of James Niemeyer, which was the first he's scored this season.

Los Gatos' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. With that draw, Palo Alto's record moves to 9-3-4.

Palo Alto beat Los Gatos by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palo Alto since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
