Softball Recap: Leopold Comes Up Short

Leopold lost against Malden back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Leopold took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Malden.

Malia VanderMierden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Jansen, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Leopold's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Malden, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Leopold Wildcats take on Meadow Heights Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Leopold's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Malden, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-9 defeat against Twin Rivers on the 25th.
