Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Layla Carmichael and Savannah Dur Lead Wes-Del to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Wells, Wes-Del was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Anderson Prep Academy Jets as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wes-Del took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11, 25-12.

Leading Wes-Del to victory were Savannah Dur and Layla Carmichael. Dur had seven aces, while Carmichael had eight digs. Those seven aces gave Dur a new career-high.

Wes-Del's victory bumped their record up to 9-19. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Wes-Del will be playing in front of their home fans against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Anderson Prep Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Tindley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
