Basketball Game Preview: Rocky River Pirates vs. Fairview Warriors

The Rocky River Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Fairview Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Rocky River, who comes in off a win.

Rocky River will head into Saturday's contest having proved themselves against North Olmsted: Rocky River took a 38-point defeat the last time they faced off against North Olmsted, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Rocky River came out on top in a nail-biter against North Olmsted on Saturday, sneaking past 59-56. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Eagles are ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Fairview's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 74-65 to St. Edward.

The victory made it two in a row for Rocky River and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Fairview, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Rocky River lost to Fairview on the road by a decisive 62-46 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Rocky River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
