Softball Recap: Powell County Pirates vs. Buckhorn Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elliott County, Powell County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Buckhorn Wildcats. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kylie Shick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up eight earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
