Football Game Preview: Akron Rams vs. Mancos Bluejays + How To Watch

The Akron Rams will take on the Mancos Bluejays at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Akron is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over Crowley County. The Rams' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Akron's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jakzon Livesay, who rushed for 142 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Livesay has posted since back in November of 2024. Kolten Randel was in the mix too, providing Akron with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Akron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mancos faced West Grand in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bluejays simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 56-26. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bluejays had established a 28-point advantage.

Akron better focus on containing Jonah H Ritter and Michael Resner as the pair were huge in Mancos' win. H Ritter rushed for 232 yards and five scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, while Resner rushed for 164 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, H Ritter is now averaging an impressive 108.2 rushing yards per game.

Akron's record now sits at 10-0. As for Mancos, their record is now 7-3.

Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Akron has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mancos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 228.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
