Varnum came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Okemah Panthers by a score of 13-8.

Varnum let Payton Romines and Aiden Cooper run wild. Romines scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Cooper scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Romines is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Suarez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Varnum pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.6 runs over those games. As for Okemah, they moved to 3-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Varnum will venture away from home to challenge Depew at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Okemah, they will welcome Chandler at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
