Basketball Game Preview: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Cross County Thunderbirds

The East Poinsett County Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Cross County Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Poinsett County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.

Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, East Poinsett County beat Lee 57-53.

Jacob Gaines continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Eli Blagg, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Cross County came up short against Buffalo Island Central on Monday and fell 51-44. The matchup marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cross County dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for East Poinsett County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
