Baseball Game Preview: St. Stephens Indians vs. North Iredell Raiders

For the second straight game, St. Stephens will face off against North Iredell. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Stephens' offense. They came up short against North Iredell on Tuesday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For North Iredell's part, Will Oehler was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits Oehler has posted since back in March. Xavier Burgess was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

North Iredell pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Stephens, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
