Baseball Recap: Cedaredge Beats Dolores for Their Fourth Straight Win

Cedaredge and Dolores faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Friday. The Bruins blew past the Bears 15-0. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

Logan Sanders was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Cedaredge let Carson Rupp and Rylan Brooks run wild. Rupp went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Brooks went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Rupp has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Ryan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Cedaredge, bringing their record up to 19-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dolores, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Cedaredge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-0 victory against Rangely on the 10th. As for Dolores, they will be playing at home against Non Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
