The Olton Mustangs were the 39-27 winner over the Floydada Whirlwinds when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Olton fell to Floydada 31-25.

Isaiah Ruiz and Baldo Garcia certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ruiz rushed for 138 yards, while Garcia rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns.

It was another big night for Tyrean Henderson, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Henderson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Braun Hobbs made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Olton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Floydada, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Olton will look to defend their home field on Friday against Farwell at 4:00 p.m. Farwell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Olton likes a good challenge. Floydada does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
