Softball Recap: West Jessamine Colts vs. East Jessamine Jaguars
West Jessamine and East Jessamine faced off in a cross-town battle on Wednesday. The Colts had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.
Michaela Tate made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since April 8th. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emerson Collins, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
