Basketball Recap: Greendale Comes Up Short

Greendale has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-68 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burlington Demons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Demons are ranked 234th).

Greendale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Burlington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-9.

Greendale will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Anthony at 6:30 p.m. As for Burlington, they will take on Badger at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Badger knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Burlington likes a good challenge.
