Baseball Recap: Mendon's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mendon waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Canandaigua Academy Braves. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 last Wednesday.

Mendon got a great performance from Ethan Postle as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Postle has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Samuel Harrigan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Sansone, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Mendon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

Mendon's record now sits at 14-6. As for Canandaigua Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.

Mendon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Batavia on the 27th. As for Canandaigua Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey on the 22nd.
