Basketball Recap: Apex Comes Up Short

Apex was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-34 loss at the hands of the Green Hope Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Falcons since November 22, 2019.

It was another big night for Abigail Brown, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 12 boards for Green Hope. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Green Hope's points. Another player making a difference was Rachael Baldyga, who posted six points and four steals.

Apex's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Green Hope, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Apex is taking a road trip to take on Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Green Hope, they will host Cary at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Hope is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
