Softball Recap: Bradshaw Mountain Bears vs. Prescott Badgers

In what's become a running theme this season, Bradshaw Mountain gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Prescott Badgers as the Bradshaw Mountain Bears made off with an 11-4 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Bradshaw Mountain needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Kodee Statler made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Statler has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Statler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kadence Williams, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, a triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Carmen Marquez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, a stolen base, and a double.

On Prescott's side, Kennedy Carr was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3.
