Blue Mountain dropped their record down to 6-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Grove Cardinals. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Cardinals' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Pine Grove, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Pine Grove's part, not much got past Chelcy Clark, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Blue Mountain off the board. Clark has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Callee Leffler and Hannah Aungst did most of the damage at the plate: Leffler went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Aungst went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Meadow Umbenhauer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Blue Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 win against Panther Valley on the 17th. As for Pine Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-0 victory against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the 17th.
