Basketball Game Preview: North Medford Black Tornado vs. Sheldon Irish

North Medford is 1-9 against Sheldon since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Medford Black Tornado will head out to challenge the Sheldon Irish at 6:45 p.m.

North Medford is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They fell 50-41 to Grants Pass. While losing is never fun, the Black Tornado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Cavemen are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Sheldon against South Eugene on Tuesday as the squad secured a 56-27 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Irish.

Sheldon's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for North Medford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

North Medford came up short against Sheldon when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 43-30. Can North Medford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
