Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Prep Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cornerstone Prep Academy can now relate to. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinecrest Academy Paladins on Friday. Cornerstone Prep Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Pinecrest Academy earlier this season, when they won 66-64.

Despite the loss, Cornerstone Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Seth Bledsoe, who posted 18 points. The game was Bledsoe's tenth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Stone, who went 7 for 17 en route to 13 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinecrest Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joe Frain, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 boards. Frain is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 13 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Lynch, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Pinecrest Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Prep Academy will welcome Cherokee Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Prep Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.4 points per game this season. Pinecrest Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
