Lee had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-12 to make it seven. They came up short against the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers, falling 25-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in April.
Kassidy Clark made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
As for Pioneer Valley Regional, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Pioneer Valley Regional's side, Jaelyn Boliski made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, Boliski posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Pioneer Valley Regional got a massive performance out of Amy VanDoren, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. VanDoren continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Evangeline Lewis, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee will welcome Mount Greylock Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mounties have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, they will host Gateway Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
