Basketball Recap: Boys Town Takes a Loss

Boys Town easily dispatched Ralston on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Boys Town Cowboys fell just short of the Milford Eagles by a score of 55-52 on Saturday. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Colby Rautenberg was a one-man wrecking crew for Milford as he dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Rautenberg is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Zeb Reil, who posted seven points and three steals.

Boys Town's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Milford, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boys Town will host Santee at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Milford, they will challenge Fairbury at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
