Carter Champagne Game Report: @ North Vermilion

Erath had to settle for second on Friday, but Carter Champagne sure wasn't going down easily. Champagne pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The performance marked the fewest hits he has had since back in April of 2024.

Even though Champagne couldn't lead Erath over North Vermilion, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Erath has some work to do to even out the 2-7 series between these two since March of 2021, but a win here would be a good start.
