Basketball Recap: Bronsyn Knisley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Douglass over Belle Plaine

Douglass was the 47-38 winner over Belle Plaine when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Douglass Bulldogs fell just short of the Belle Plaine Dragons by a score of 47-45 on Tuesday.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bronsyn Knisley, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. Brody Rush was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Tristan Wasser was the offensive standout of the matchup as he posted 13 points and seven rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Whitley, who put up seven points.

Douglass' loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Belle Plaine, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.

Douglass didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-36 win against Goessel on the 20th. As for Belle Plaine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-16 defeat against Haven on the 20th.
