Carolina Christian suffers fifth straight loss at home

If the Carolina Christian Lions were feeling good off their 65-20 takedown of the Fletcher Falcons last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Carolina Christian took a 70-52 bruising from NorthPoint Christian Academy on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Carolina Christian of the 68-60 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

NorthPoint Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Tyler Wagner, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wagner has scored all season. Talan Pollack was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Carolina Christian's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Carolina Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Providence Classical at 7:55 p.m. on January 19th. Providence Classical is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. NorthPoint Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Walnut Grove Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. Walnut Grove Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
