Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Eek

Eek hadn't done well against Lewis Angapak recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eek Cougars really took it to the Lewis Angapak Blue Jays for the full four quarters, racking up an 85-47 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 33 points or more this season.

Leading Eek to victory were George Hoffman and John Friendly. Hoffman posted 27 points, while Friendly earned 27 points. Friendly's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Brown, who put up 12 points.

Several Blue Jays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Demetrius Lewis, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaret Andrew, who had 13 points.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. As for Lewis Angapak, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Eek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-24 victory against Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat on the 25th. Lewis Angapak has also already played their next contest, a 78-38 defeat against Kongiganak on the 25th.
