Softball Recap: Saint James Now 15-1 over Last 16 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Saint James rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the Greensboro Raiders get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 23 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mary Olive Maddox was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Santana, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Saint James always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .880. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Saint James is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 46-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Greensboro, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Saint James wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Lee-Scott Academy on the 5th. Greensboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
